Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I'm not, in any way, saying that I agree with what your boss did, Hec.

I know that, Nicole.

It's just... I've been in her situation and I've done the "I'm not able to discuss this with you. I'm very sorry." line and it bit me in the ass.

I'm in HR, I know the score. But in this instance, it also means I know there are much more professional ways to do this.

Fuck, brain-damaged gibbons could be more professional than they are.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Hec, I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Your employers are evil fuckwads. You deserve better than this and I hope you find a new, better job and can tell them to EAT IT.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I believe the gibbons are our future / Teach them well, and let them lead the way

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Hec, I'm so sorry. I am, upon occasion, naive. That sounds pretty definite though. That so sucks, especially the straight out lie. I'm so sorry.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Man, Hec, that whole situation bites a big one. I hope wherever you go from there has people with a little moral character and some backbone.

Our wings are not tired.

Fuck fuck fuck. This is so unbelievably shitty. And you know what? Especially fuck Nice Boss. What did she think, you were going to go postal on her in her office if she leveled with you?

I don't know how you are about such things, but I was in a similar situation once and I cried when they fired me. I knew it was coming for a good long time so not actually shocked. The person who did the deed deserved to feel like low life scum so I cried. She was way more upset than I was before it was over. Yes, I am that vindictive.

Sorry you are going through so much crap with this Hec. I sure hope you get a better job soon.

I have a Leif story (what else is new), but maybe it should wait for another time.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Hivemind question: How much do I need to wash my new electric blanket before using it?

Sunbeam's instructions say they recommend it, then give some pretty darn finicky care instructions of the sort that our oldish washer and dryer can't really manage. The long and the short of it is that not only will I have a lot of fuss and bother, but also I won't get to use the blanket tonight and possibly not tomorrow night, either, if I do wash it first.

Gud, if Leif story will make us smile, you should tell now.
