Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
If I can keep the costs down, then we might be able to still swing going to the F2F, if not, then we might not be going.
You have a big family, no? Can you ask for some of them to help and then feed them a big pasta dinner?
eta: because I really, really, REALLY would love to see you and Dave again. You, mostly.

Not really. The main problems for moving are the bookcases, the bed, a couple of large cabinets, and a million boxes of books.

I know. I am sorry. I'm already feeling guilty about this, but we had to jump on this apartment.
Last time we moved, we had a "box day" a week before the actual move. We packed books and dishes and so forth in boxes and invited a bunch of folks to come help us. Each person moved maybe five or six boxes total, so it wasn't too tiring, and we provided breakfast. It was actually lots of fun and saved us a LOT on the hourly move rates.
7 hours, wow! That's great!
And another wow for Sparky's NZ interview. For some reason, I was assuming that would move at a much more glacial pace - it seems like tehy are contacting you shockingly fast. In a good way. Or maybe my sense of how time is passing is way off, thath happens. Eitehr way, very cool!
The new place sounds wonderful, sj. And you have a lot of time to get yourself moved, it sounds like an excellent situation all the way around.
Eta except for the not making it to F2F part. I'm not crazy about that part.
I have a mover that is pretty fast and cheap. He's a friend of mine and I've referred him out to EllenS too. He moved all the stuff from a 3rd floor apartment to the 3 story house with the tiny staircases, and did a great job... he may be more than your other guy though. But let me know if you want his #. And definitely tell him I referred you, if you call for a quote.
Well, I hope you'll be there, since I had to be all line-drawn-in-the-sand to get there myself.
Guilt is silly. Sorrow, grief, sadness... those are to be expected, but no guilt. Life matters take precedence and I'm thrilled that the two of you are taking the next step with this apartment. THRILLED!
Just... well, if there's a chance that I can help try to figure out a way for the two of you to have your lovely new apartment AND a trip to SF, then I'll keep suggesting stuff. Who knows, I may even come up with something good. You never know what might happen...

If you would send me the information to my profile address, I would reallly appreciate it. Do you think he would come down to RI? The last people I had gave me so much trouble about getting my couch out of my old place and into my new one, I don't know if I want to deal with them again.
Off I go. Thanks for the well-wishes! (whooosh!)
I wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes and all of the ~ma, it has to be the reason that there was "absolutely no problem" with the credit check. Now that I don't have to wait by the phone anymore, I need to shower and get dressed and go meet my family for dinner. Have a good afternoon, everyone.
