'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Cool? Silly?

I vote Cool.

Librarian Warlord

Aimee, I'm glad you and Chris were safe under the desk. What, exactly, did the bank manager think you were going to do?

Peace ~ma for AnotherAlaskan and family.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Actually you'd be required to explain both definitions.

Is it okay if we dwell on one more than the other?

Robbed bank is very cool. In a no-don't-do-that sort of a way.

I hope everything goes as calmly as possible for AnotherAlaskan.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

What, exactly, did the bank manager think you were going to do?

Cover my boobies and run after the guy.

Pffft. Right. Obviously he's not a Chris Isaak fan.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

So, I was copying and pasting from b.org to Word, to pass on what folks had to say to AnotherAlaskan, and ended up with different fonts from Natter (Verdana) and Bitches (Times Roman). Huh.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Or explain what a crumpet is.

It's an English muffin foetus.

Daniel, I vote cool.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The BBC has a very nice FAQ about the Creative Archive project and the related iMP here. (And yes, it's only for UK residents - it's really just an extension of the TV licence - and yes, users are granted access based on their IP address. Which, yes, means that people who haven't paid a TV license but have UK IP addresses will probably be able to freeload. And also means that expats who have paid their licence are screwed.)

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Oh. Chris Isaak. On my To Do list. Yum. YUM. I

Gris, that's a VERY good idea. One of the factors in my hiring at a mostly Latino school was that I chose a Neruda poem for my sample lesson, and brought it in in Spanish and English. So, showing interdepartmental goodness is wise. (Although they acted like I was GENIUS for thinking of a biling lesson, and it kinds seemed a gimme to me...)

And in a nice bit of synchronicity, the Accidental Hedonist has just posted this list of British foods.
