I'm sorry, Aimee. It sure sounds like you're doing everything right and will be out of that hole soon, if that's any consolation.
I amm irresponsibly not looking at my finances. At all. As long as I can pay bills as they come due and make payments on the credit cards, I'm pretending everything is rosy. I honestly have no idea how our income compares to our expenses for the first time in ages, because I'm afraid of what I'd find.
If that works, can I borrow your foot?
If not, the Midwest is apparently getting pounded with a foot of snow. Maybe that would be available.
forwards Aimee email from a nice gentleman in Nigeria whose family oil business has fallen on hard times in the recent turmoil
Pfft. I got Nigerian

Ah, head-in-the-sand financial planning. I'm also on that plan.
Oh! I forgot to say: Hec, I'm so sorry about the job, and BT, YAY on Wallybee love!!

It's good for the soul, but the interest rates are killer.
BT made me grin -- I really hope you two can make it to the F2F.

I'm afraid I won't be there. I'm visiting around August/September, though. I do still need to work out how my current circumstances affect that.

Ooh, all of us, or just the Left Coasties?

I want to get to DragonCon, in Atlanta, and I'm going to Chicago as well. I want to visit either NYC or Boston (for the novelty value); but I've just recently found a limiting factor, i.e. Wallybee may not be able to get a visa, and I don't want to be away from her that long (nor does she, I think). I may have to think carefully about this.

Go Boston! Choose Boston!
Though not over Wallybee. We know from priorities.
Aaaand I'm off for bed. Good night, all.

If you want, I can ask my FiL if he has any advice for her (he's been a consular officer for nearly 30 years, and Asia is his niche territory).
