For the love of Pete, why is it so danged hard to find a cute 50's style dress in my size.
If you want to e me your measurements, preferred colors and price range, I can keep an eye out the next time I'm wandering Haight Street (which should be this weekend or next).
I'm still grumpy about getting sniped out of that Victorian jacket. It is so, so, so freaking hard, ever, to find a Victorian
anything
that's both (a) still in wearable condition and (b) not a size 00. (Also, next to impossible on eBay to find something labeled Victorian that's actually demonstrably Victorian, but that's a whole other Learn Your Vintage/Antique Terms Before You Sell, Dammit! rant). And I wasn't even sniped by some other average-sized antique dress loving woman, I was sniped by an eBay
store
that's just gonna turn around and try to resell it at two or three times the original seller's price. I'd be less pissed off if I knew that the jacket was at least going to someone else who loved it to death and had to have it and was going to try it on the minute she got it in her hot little hands, but no. It's going to someone who doesn't give a shit about its beauty or rarity except insofar as they'll get him/her some extra buxx.
Rationally, I know there's nothing unethical or unjust about sniping, but I totally have a first-grader's sense of ethics. You cut in line and you suck!
ION, those are extra-fab shoes, MG, and Teppy should totally have a pair too.

Will do.
I have nothing to wear to Prom, I can't seem to find anything to wear to Prom and I'm not going.

Ok, I don't know what the correct measurement ratio is for an hourglass figure, but I think I fit. 42-35-46. Jeebus,
The shirt I wanted to wear to Prom wasn't there when I went back to buy it. I was sad. But, who knows? At the rate I'm losing weight (and by losing, I mean gaining) I may still be fat enough to wear my dress from NYE, which is really lovely.
Good therapy day?
Pretty good. I am in a fairly good mood today too; it's been a while since that has happened.
So far today I've learned that I'm not able to walk and drink water at the same time. Good to know. I'd rather I hadn't learned that nifty little lesson as I was walking into a packed room for a meeting, but such is life.
At least it was just water.
Got it. Colors? Also, would you consider corseting underneath your dress, or are you only interested in a corset if it's front and center, not covered up? 'Cause if you can stand to corset underneath a party dress, that increases your frocky options.
So....has anyone had anything *good* happen to them lately?
My favorite jeans have become so baggy that I can pull 'em on & off without unzipping or even undoing the button.
I would be very proud, except that I've done nothing at all to cause this to happen. My body seems to bounce around a set-point without regard to my activities. Sometimes these jeans become uncomfortably tight and I am outraged by the unfairness because I didn't indulge myself with In-N-Out burgers and chocolate.
I can stand corseting under, but alas, have no corset that fits.
What we need to do at Prom is set me up like a paperdoll. I'll just stand there in bra and panties and people can dress me up.
Also, I did send you an email! :)
Note to self:: Image of you in bra and panties killed everyone ded ded ded. And not in the good way.
Hee!
I was just chatting with a friend from my knitting and crocheting group on gmail's new chat. She signed every one of her messages. It kinda cracked me up.
ION, I just bought more yarn. I sure hope I start feeling better soon so I can quit justifying this expense.
JZ, I was thinking about wandering down to Stonestown this weekend (shooooz), but I'd be up for thrifting if you want a companion.
