and the girl's says "zoe, la pirate". SO CUTE.
OMG my friend's new baby girl Zoe needs that so very badly. I don't suppose they come in teeny baby size do they? (She's only just about 4 lbs and her main, well only, outfit so far has been a little wrap shirt 1/2 onesie thing with super long sleeves and a diaper and a swaddling blanket and little cotton cap.) She and her brother (piratically named Jack) got to come home from the hospital yesterday! I was writing a song for them in the car this morning. It went sort of like
Bumble bumble bee, bee/Bumble bumble bee
Panda panda bear bear/Panda panda bear
Chimpan chimpanzee zee/Chimpan chimpanzee
I hope they like it!
{{vw}} and libkitty too! I was so sorry to hear about your church.
Spring day memory: I can't think of a specific one but Easters at my grandparents was emblematic of my childhood springtimes. One of my favorite parts (aside from all the candy, natch, and the pretty dresses) was taking a family portrait in front of the statue in the park across from my grandparent's house. I thought the statue was of a family ancestor. Probably because that's what my grandad and uncles told us.
Looking forward to: My drummer's wedding in a couple of weeks. There will be a mariachi band and a pinata and she will be happy and beautiful and that will be wonderful to see.
I have no specific spring memory, but I am looking forward to going to London and Scotland tomorrow!
Tomorrow! Have a wonderful time Nora. You know that we'll be hungry for pictures. But mostly looking forward to hearing tales of a lovely vacation for you and Tom.
It seams that the triage nurse decided I was crazy or something and didn't let the doctor's in the back know that there was a patient in the waiting room having seizures.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. I'm so sorry that on top of all the body betrayal crap you have to deal with insensitive asshats.
thanks Laura!
note to self: pack camera.
I had actually forgotten about that.
vw, I'm glad you're back home. I tell ya, all of the medical folk that have treated you less than professionally lately are quite lucky you're not a violent person. Bless your friend that was watching out for you last night and thanks to Em for keeping us in the loop. {{{vw}}}
Nora, I hope you and Tom have a GREAT time!! London and Scotland are both at the top of my Must Visit Someday list and I'm so veryvery jealous. But I'm also happy that you're both able to share this adventure together, though... so it all equals out.
{{VW}} I am glad you got to go home - but I am feeling the need to go to your local ER and and find a number of individuals and and thawp them good.

SA and Fay - I love the new looks. Absolutely love.
Since I bitched about a nurse, I feel the need to share her dialectic: the second nurse who treated me in the back. This nurse was just wonderful...really went way above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and alright...especially after my friend, Allison left. I'll share a couple little examples before I jump in the shower.
First, before she went to collect my discharge papers, she asked how I was feeling. I mentioned that I was in some pain, because the painkillers were wearing off. When she came back with my discharge papers, she had a painkiller with her. She said, "You shouldn't have to wait till you get home for this to start to work." And she's right, but I didn't ask for it, and it was just nice that she was that thoughtful.
Then, I apologized, because I had a girly accident (stupid pads! I'm not used to them) on the sheets. She's like, "Don't worry about the sheets, honey!. Are you ok? Can I get you some hospital pants to get home?" Then she went on to apologize and say she wished she would have known earlier so she could have made me more comfortable. So, I now own some hospital pants. It was just really nice. She didn't want me to have to be embarrassed when I walked out. I thought it was very thoughtful.
Fay, that's an excellent cut! (Also, you *do* look like me, or *I* look like you, and I hope that doesn't come across as egotistical on my part or vomit-inducing on your part.)
