Ah, yes, of course. The gypsies, they gave you your soul. The gypsies are filthy people. Ptui! We shall speak of them no more.

Ilona Costa Bianchi ,'The Girl in Question'

Spike's Bitches 29: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

True enough.

I want to have my dinner NOW NOW NOW!!

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

No clue what a paczki is, but I'm definitely starting to crave one.

Spidra, that's ridiculous. I'll order the clue-sticking for you. Though you're right about the layoff being better with warning. Ours came with 6ish months warning. (Of course, the idiots in LA still weren't ready to take over our operations because they couldn't get their acts together in 6 months...but that's not the point of this story). It's better for planning for yourself for what comes next & does feel more like it really is a fiscal thing, rather than a you-suck-get-out thing.

Jammies, bed, & fluff TV sound really good. Now I'm craving those too. Feel better Robin.

Listening to On the Drift. "Leaf on the Wind" keeps making me all sniffly(er)

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

hopefully the bad days will only be a day or two. I feel vaguely guilty about staying home today - except that the thought of going to the grocery store- or even putting the dishes in the dishwasher is vaguely daunting.

I miss Polish food. It was all over Buffalo when I lived there.

Spidra, your co-workers are a bunch of asses. I hope, for your sake, it's a condition that passes (hopefully very painfully) well before March 31st. I wish I had an "in" here. You'd still might work for jerks, but the benefits are good.

I went back and filled in more of my Expression of Interest to migrate to NZ. I was wrong -- even without the job offer I'm an automatic admit. The DH and I might have to talk. (If you want to play, the points indicator is here. Minimum is 100, automatic admit is 140. On this I manage a 155.)

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Huh. I scored a 125. (About time that masters degree became useful.) If the SD madness spreads I may have to give this more thought. Thanks, Sparky.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Wow. That's exciting, Sparky. If I suddenly had a workable offer to move to Canada, Sweden or Denmark, I'd be sorely tempted right now. NZ and Australia would also be on that list but they seem so remote.

I have no library degree. I have a little bit of experience working at the URL at UCLA as well as some experience working at a law librarian temp agency. So if you hear of anything, do let me know. UC is definitely on my list of desirable employers. I've applied many times but it's hard to get in there without knowing someone.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

That is great, Sparky.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That is cool, sparky.

When can I come visit?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I got a 95, but I didn't chase down their preferrred industry listing or anything.

When can I come visit?

I should probably be there, first.

The online Expression of Interest form is making me nuts because it doesn't tell me what comes next.

If I go to NZ, my mother is going to kill me ded. There's also a job posting in Toronto, so that's a possible ticket away from the Bushies, also.
