Good news: MinnesotaGirl spent all day cancelling cards and closing bank accounts and so on...and then this evening some guy knocked on her door and let her know the contents of her wallet (except for cash and bus pass) were scattered all over his lawn...she's v. excited by that, even though it's kinda useless now.
But she says her face is all crazy colors and swollen and painful. Poor thing.
Please to pass on my best wishes to MNGirl. I can't believe those guys were so blatant - that's a pretty high-traffic area she lives in
Will do. The cops said there's been a lot of muggings, but she's the first girl who's also gotten beaten up. Gee, lucky her.
I was fighting two ancient crones who could shoot sewing needles from their fingertips
That would be super freaky!
I got an email from the HR person in Wellington, NZ, where I'd sent a resume
Ooh, Sparky, that's exciting. How do you have eligibility to work in NZ?
Jen, big hugs and best wishes and good good -ma.
reading silly scifi/adventure -oh-no-mankind-is-messing-with-nature-book. where people were growing gills.
Really? What book? I've read good and bad books with gills...:)
I got home about 90 minutes ago to find that the cats had not only gotten up on the counter, but one of them had managed to pry the top off a one gallon tupperware container, to expose the cat food inside.
I'm thinking that the main culpret is Harvey. Smart puddy tat.
Andi's reaction: "Dear Tupperware: You suck."
Jen, I'm so sorry to hear your news. I'll definitely be holding good thoughts for you during the upcoming treatments.
I spent two hours in the bath.
This sounds like bliss. I might do the exact same thing.

It's still nice that she won't have to stress about that any longer. I hope her injuries heal quickly and well.

Nothing can defeat the hungry kitty. Well, at least nothing that doesn't require opposable thumbs.
I have had a few moments of crying for lost people but am pretty much okay. Some massive bursts of organizing two rooms into things that stay, things that go to charity and things that go to people I know. The worst is still to come but I am making strides and might actually be technically prepared to move in a week. Maybe.
And I lit the place up with candles which always makes me happy. Also warm. Which is also good.
I also walked up to the corner market all happy because it is raining. Put on this magical coat that resists rain, a warm hat and traipsed up the street. Yep, ready for Portland.

This was, of course, after I had quit laughing uproariously.

One thing I should admit out loud: Culling stuff down is a good, good thing even when it is hard to get rid of things. I have really got to remember that clutter doesn't make me happy.
