Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I contend Sawyer was never evil. Just unpleasant. If they'd made him evil, I could enjoy him in less shallow ways. But I like the shallow ways too.

As for Spike -- flat out evil bores me. Mixed up evil, evil that sometimes does good for reasons a little more abstract than survival -- that gets me in.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

And I'm now realizing that it's been about seven years since I got into fandom, and that I should do something to commemorate it.

Huh. So...that means me too. And we just passed the third anniversary of PolyRecs.

And we just passed the third anniversary of PolyRecs.

I've been working on those, btw, and also, holy crap.

I want to have a fandom festival to celebrate. If only we weren't so freaking busy.

Yeah, this update is going to be the update that Stargate: Atlantis ate, at least from my end.

We should do something later in the year, maybe. Or force people to do things for us.

Dude, you know I got your back. Plus, I suspect that I'll be going with the My Brain Has Been Devoured by Anime/Manga/Comics Ask Me How look, myself.

Ooh! This plan has potential.

oddest recent search string that brought someone to my website:

how to get black guys to take their gang rags off lose the cornrows and pull their pants up

I wonder how long that person stayed to look at my fic.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I know there were words here, but after "Kerr Avon" I sort of lost focus.

Mmmmmm, Avon...

...

...

...damn, I know I came here for something. Er. Right! Yes.

I have to rec Zahra (HackThis)'s fabulous almost-finished WIP Trade.

It's an Alias/HP slash AU, in which Draco Malfoy runs an escort service. Sounds crap? Yeah. It really, really, REALLY isn't. This is one of my very favourite stories to date in any fandom. Now a big part of it is that it's so very very very London. Zahra lived in London for several years, and it very much shows - London is practically a character in its own right. The mass of detail wrt brand names and suchlike may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it really works for me. Outwith the London thing, though? This is just FUN. I love the characters as written, I'm totally tickled by the juxtaposition of JKR's characters into a non-magical 'verse and the way she's woven the Alias 'verse into it, and the slashy goodness is splendid.

I'm loving this. Really. Go & check it out. It's FUN.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Fay, you got me hooked on it, and now there are these two monstrous final chapter-halves, and I should be working! And also I'm a little sulky because I find it difficult to root for the Draco/Blaise when there's a Harry in the picture. Because I am that annoying with my favorites.
