A ghost? What's the deal? Is every frat on this campus haunted? And if so, why do people keep coming to these parties, cause it's not the snacks.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Okay, now I feel bad -- from her LJ info, she's not a native English speaker.

But still!

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

The Eggcorn Database.

Hurray, more language nerddom! Not that it doesn't make me sad every time someone refers to a chaise longue as a chaise lounge (and pronounces it that way), but I think I have lost the battle on that one.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

I think I have lost the battle on that one.

Long ago, my friend. But it bugs my father, too, so you're in good company.

Always Anti-fascist!

I did not know this! I've been totally using it incorrectly. Also, thought "banal" rhymed with "anal" Because I have a "baNAL" streak and I know more words than I ever use.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think I have lost the battle on that one.

I spell it correctly but sometimes say it wrong. Not that it comes up that much.

OK, I know that there are big awards and such out there for pro writers, and there are lots of awards for fic writers, but as of now I'm claiming the "Coolest Feedback Ever" award.

Received today from Australia, a 365-day calendar with pictures of Italy in honor of "Nessuno", a bottle of 2001 Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon because she likes me and figures Hubby and I could use a bottle of good wine, and a letter of such appreciation that I'm all verklempt.

I think it would take Joss Himself saying, "You know, that Two Ladies of Quality writer, her stuff is cool," to make me feel giddier.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Wowza!!!! That's fantastic!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Connie, that's so nice! Plus, your writing is so good that you deserve that every day. (And *good* wine, IMO.)

Haven't tried the wine yet. I'm waiting for the weekend so I can imbibe to heart's content without having to be somewhere in the morning. It's got a cork in the top. I've never dealt with wine that comes with corks.

All right, I'm a cheap date, sue me. Riunite Lambrusco is my normal poison of choice.
