Marco: Do we look reasonable to you? Mal: Well. Looks can be deceiving. Jayne: Not as deceiving as a low down dirty... deceiver.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

If you go to the posts from the yahoo groups site, you can pretty easily skip the ones you don't care about. Personally, I do look for the posts seconding a rec - some of the recs are pretty iffy, so I usually skip the inital rec and just check things out if a handful of people (or someone I know and respect) confirm that it's worth checking out.

With you on the nitpicky conversations being as painful as the badfic. And yet I couldn't resist a response to that kind of whacked-out post about high schools. (Which I think was from the same person who started the grammar talk, too.)

She's one of the mods, and posted the original list with the intent to drum up converstation. Which, obviously, worked.

Yeah, I can see that, and I didn't mean that as a slap at her as it may have sounded - but the HS post really seemed to come out of left field.

As far as pet peeves go, it is an odd one! But, mind, I remember having similar issues in S7 WRT the wall smashing in the Summers house, because plaster walls don't smash like paper.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

If it's any consolation, that bothered me too. I think I had more sympathy for the poor Summers house in Season 7 than for anyone living in it.

Wrod. "Don't kill the house," I kept muttering, "don't kill the house."

Take your fingers off it, don't you dare touch it, you know it don't belong to you, to you...

There can be a Shakespeare fandom?

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Shakespeare was my first fandom. Of course, it was pre-Web, and I was pretty much pre-clue, so for me it was pretty local, but yes, I'd say that there can be rabid Shakespeare fandom.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Have you been to Ren Faire? It's bloody fan fic walking.
