Don't worry, we're sure to spot Faith first. She's like this cleavagy slut-bomb walking around 'Ooh, check me out, I'm wicked-cool, I'm five-by-five.'

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Even better:

Case's Corollary to the Law states "if the subject is Heinlein or homosexuality, the probability of a Hitler/Nazi comparison being made becomes equal to one"

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Hee.

Case's Corollary to the Law states "if the subject is Heinlein or homosexuality, the probability of a Hitler/Nazi comparison being made becomes equal to one" - but that's just an old list. Abortion and gun control debates always lead to Nazi comparisons; talk with a Libertarian for more than a few hours and he'll almost certainly bring up Nazis; book-burning is pretty much considered a sub-topic of Nazism at this point. Hell, talk about anything politically related and you'll eventually get there.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Now that makes Buffistas look good.

Or more likely to grab "fascist" from the political bag than Nazi.

If she's complained that the people she's arguing with are all like the mean girls in high school, you get to invoke Snacky's Law, as well.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

If she's complained that the people she's arguing with are all like the mean girls in high school, you get to invoke Snacky's Law, as well.

This almost makes me want to go goad her into doing so. Not actually, but almost.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Has she claimed she is being oppressed? (Is it an unmoderated board?)

I think I need a publicist for my law. How do you make these things famous? Snacky, who is your publicist?

I forgot what Nutty's Law is.

Please to restate?

(And is it Nutty's Law or Vehemently's Law? I vote for the latter.)

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Has she claimed she is being oppressed? (Is it an unmoderated board?)

I'm not sure. No, it's not unmoderated.

Signed, a mod.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

She's largely complaining that she's being picked on. Which is true, but it's pretty much her own fault.

Nutty - Jun 18, 2004 12:44:29 pm PDT #8448 of 10000
"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Nutty's Law was: In an unmoderated posting environment, you are exactly as oppressed as you choose to be.

(Although, even in a moderated posting environment, it's not hard to be as oppressed as you choose to be, but the rules are murkier.)

Someday, I would like to end up in a sociology textbook.
