Have you seen any of P.R. Roach's stuff? She likes vids with women fighting.

Fan Fiction: Writers, Readers, and Enablers
This thread is for fanfic recs, links, and discussion, but not for actual posting of fanfic.
No, please give me links!
Also, I was wondering, because I never see the bad vids -- what are the standard beginner's mistakes? What makes a vidder hack?
I'd like to know the answer to the hack question myself. I want to actually become a decent vidder someday.
(ita, I could find a link to my first vid, if you want a baddish one.)
Minnow's started a series of post-eps for Not Fade Away; I liked the first one, but with the second and third I am in love.
Katie -- those are lovely -- 7 more. Be sure to direct us to those too!
I am writing a Buffy fanfic I can only best describe as a multiverse techno-thriller inspired piece, where I bring together elements of many of my own favorite pop culture franchises. It's in the very early stages. If I wanted y'all to read parts of it, would I just post here? Or would I email it to someone?
By the way, really liked the livejournal entries.
Here, ita.
Caterpillar, this thread is really only for discussion of fic. All fic posting goes in the Buffista Fic thread.
Thanks a bunch, Dana. Will immerse.
What I understand to be the bad vidding choices usually involve:
- lots of shots of people talking
- not fast enough cuts
- over-reliance on lyrics to get your meaning across (particularly for romantic songs)
- showing precisely the visual image that matches the lyric, but the context of the image from the show is wrong, so the emotions don't match
- over-reliance on flashy editing techniques that don't fit with the song or the show
- picking a song that doesn't match the show, like AC/DC for a LoTR vid
Those are a few that come to mind
