Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

No. It actually doesn't ring a bell, although I'm torn between horrified and intrigued at the name.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm picturing SMG in a red serge uniform. And looking rather disgruntled about it.

I've been working on a song about the difference between analogy and metaphor.

?Oh no you don?t, you are not going to sleep? here?? She said and incredibly started giving him a blowjob. ?Whatever it takes.?

I have no comment. I just thought the "incredibly started giving him a blowjob" was worth repeating.

She was sucking desperately the small, but yet perfect center of his being.

Dude? Did you just copy over someone else's m-to-f blowjob and forget to replace the small references with "large and hard"?

She was surprised after all he was a Prince and she would have thought he had never given head to anyone, probably never even received such a wonderful treat back.

Um, yeah. Royalty never goes down.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think it is incredible that she started giving him one.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Bootleg. Inside Billy Tallent's head, on the way to Edmonton. A taste:

Joe doesn't get that it's too late to go out in a blaze of glory. No way they can die young now. No way you can make it real again.

It's been a long time since I read any HCL fic. I may have to go on a hunt now.

Hey. New board.

Damn.

Just when I was thinking I could avoid being interested in fanfic, I had to go and read one that made me cry. (BTVS fic, called The Funeral, recently added at fanfiction.net)

Now I need to seek out the kind of fic I like.

If anybody has any suggestions for really well-written stuff that doesn't contain any seriously pornographic scenes, that'd be great. That's really been the biggest fanfic turn-off for me: I prefer my erotic fiction to have faceless, voiceless characters, that I can use my imagination on and never feel wrong.

Unfortunately, it seems hard to find good fanfic that isn't basically erotic fiction in disguise.

To be clear: I don't mind love scenes, but they should be secondary to some sort of interesting story, or at least character exploration, and should not be the focus of the fic.

Now I want to write fic. I have too many hobbies I WANT to pursue.

brillig

Nova, I feel your pain. If there's a plot reason for two people to hop in the sack, go for it. There's rarely a plot reason for the extensive choreography that then gets described. I've been known to scroll past such scenes when re-reading my favorite fics.

Not to say I haven't perpetrated smut myself ;), but I try to have a reason. Makes it difficult to write "porn without plot," because I am plot's bitch.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Poly recs has plenty of gen recs.

Where do you start to consider things seriously pornographic? (To help me seek out recs. As I own a lot of erotica, I tend to view things as seriously hardcore erotica if and only if there's nothing but sex. But YMMV.)
