It's called a blaster, Will, a word that tends to discourage experimentation. Now, if it were called the Orgasmater, I'd be the first to try your basic button press approach.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

while the British usage progressed and became more streamlined, American (and Austrailian usage, I suppose) retained the anachronism.

Which is what happened with "fall" too, IIRC.

edit: versus "autumn"

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

So maybe there's someone out there that's more familiar with the situation than I am.

Did one of the big webmasters in HP fandom *ban* one of the other BNFs from the site she owns? And thereby ban everyone else who tries to log on from the same school that BNF attends?

This is what comes of trying to stay away from Fandom Wank...

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I do mean that last one. I just can't tell precisely how insane everyone there is.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

See, now I'm all disappointed that the link didn't spawn a whole long mocking thread of comments, for the full circle effect. Oh well.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Written on the bathroom wall at Sign of the Whale in DC:

Sirius/Remus - Their love is so canon!

Heh.

(Well, actually it said "cannon" but I'll forgive that just this once 'cause I was so tickled to see it.

(And I hope I got the names right - never did get around to reading those books.)
