I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies
Hee, I just read that. My favorite bit:
Hurt/Comfort: Best to demonstrate with a mini-fic here. Writer takes character A, strips him, strings him up from a tree, covers him in honey and sets a swarm of wasps on him. Character B wanders past, and says, “What’s happened to you then?”
A replies, “I’ve been stripped, strung up from a tree, covered in honey and had a swarm of wasps set one me. It’s really quite painful.”
B, “Oh. Poor you. Fancy a shag?”

Doggett could have carried that show if they'd given him the chance.
I liked Doggett. I thought he was quite nummy, and not a bad actor.
Poor Robert Patrick. That was probably the most thankless job ever.
I loved Doggett. I think he could have carried the show, too. I still watch random re-runs if I happen to catch them, IF they're Doggett-ful.

By that point I'd been watching XF on and off for about five years, and just threw my hands up in the air over the whole Mulder storyline. What idiots the writers were, especially for people who were only casual viewers. Season One is the epitome of XF, for me.
Topic switch--can anyone give me some good Dark Angel recs? I know the fandom's scary as hell, but surely there's some readable Max/Logan stuff behind all the shipper crap?
