"Free reign"
Yes! Yes!
"tow the line"--this one has always boggled me a bit. Is it in the sense of behaving? If so, then, yeah, "toe" that line, buddy. Is there a usage for "towing", as in pulling a heavy weight?

I'm seeing lots of misuse with people saying "tow the party line." I think it's only "tow" if there's a literal weight on a rope involved.
I get irked by the use of "cannon" when "canon" is what's meant. The reign/rein/rain issue is another one that drives me absolutely batshit.
The word "ministrations" makes me think of a) bad h/c fic or b) soup.

I will laugh until I hurt when I see a romantic scene involving "his tender ministrone."
For some reason, "ministrations" always looks rather typoish to me. I keep thinking, well, they've dropped the "ad" from the front.
He tenderly ministroned to his sick lover, towing the party line of 'you've got to look after the ill'. After all, even the Buffy cannon has Xander looking after Sipke.
Back! Back, Am-Chau of the horrendous bad fic!
t spiteful You made me write Spike looking after the babies.
Yeah, but you spelled everything correctly. And it was cute.
It was sickening. And, I admit, sort of cute. I must really need food.
