There's more than one way to skin a cat. And I happen to know that's factually true.

I've been working on a song about the difference between analogy and metaphor.

Same woman. At least one--maybe two?--fantasy novels from DAW in the early nineties.

I wasn't impressed because I already knew you were cool.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I know I shouldn't care where feedback comes from. But ... I do. I'm a bad person.

Oh, I totally care. It's not like it doesn't count, but I get an extra thrill when it's from someone I know and respect.

Yeah, me too. I get much more of a thrill (for example) from a 'nice stosy' post in Bitchy Fic than from a 'nice story' review at ff.n, because in Bitchy Fic I know the person who posted it, and I trust thier judgement because of that. I've never had feedback from a BNF (barring Buffistas), so I don't know about that.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

yes and yes and yes. Hell, if I'm shallow to rate a nice review by Roger Zelazny above a nice review by Hengelbort Brinkschlubber, then don't bother to try plumbing my hidden depths, because I haven't got any.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

The day I got feedback from Jesemie's Evil Twin I nearly fell out of my chair. Especially since it wasn't just a one-liner. It was several dense paragraphs of discussion about two or three stories in a row. I was new to the fandom but even then I knew that she was a remarkable, remarkable writer. Getting feedback from her was... god, amazing. I wanted to print it out and roll around in it.

And now she's my friend and I love that.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I want a multi-fandom con that encompasses all forms of fan creativity, not just slash or het or gen, but everything. With panels on vidding and fic and reccing and the beta process and OTP and the influence of blogging on fandom and all sorts of other stuff. Want.

Me too!

Totally. Ask SA how insanely pleased I was when Tham LOC'd me. I am pathetic fan girl at heart.

(grinning)

I love to know I'm not alone with that reaction. Such a nice moment, isn't it?

brillig

I'm on Te's Rec page on her website. I was very giddy, especially as she said she was making an exception to her policy of not reccing WIPs. (Yep, I can namedrop too! Joining everyone in the shallow end of hte pool. It's nice here.)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Hmmm, I don't know about the panel content, since I've never been, but MediaWest is a multi-fandom con...(I've seen a couple of tapes of fan videos shown there...)

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.
