Spike? It's you. It's really you! My therapist thought I was holding on to false hope, but…I knew you'd come back. You're like…you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Oh…he's alive Frodo. He's alive.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

ITA, shrift.

The thing is, Firefly lenders itself to amazingly diverse number of pairing, het and slash. Simon and River for example, I can see paired with almost anybody on the crew, of either sex. Ditto Jayne, although I can see him better in slash than het. The *only* people on the ship who resist random pairing-offs are Wash and Zoe. Why go after them when there are so many other rich possibilities to mine?

As for Angel - for some reason, I've had absolutely no problem with either Spike or Angel boffing someone else, whether they were in a relationship with Buffy or anyone else. It's probably to do with my impression on vampire sexuality, and the fact that most of their relationships, even when they professed to be in love, were so gorram unhealthy.

You sip / say it's your crazy / straw say it's you're crazy / as you bicycle your soul / with beauty in your basket

Heh heh heh. Yes.

I had to kind of shut my eyes and wing it for that characterization.

But very many bits are very beautifully written.

Always Anti-fascist!

I think vamps are at least bi.And they don't think about relationships like people do.

Up with the sun

I think Xander was ambiguous enough about Anya that I could see him cheating on her at pretty much any point in their relationship. Which makes me sad, cos I like Anya.

they don't think about relationships like people do.

I can go with that. As far as I'm concerned, Angelus probably fucks everything that moves. But Angel? Angel with his soul? Not so much. There's major angst before he'll make so much as a move.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Hmm. Worth going evil again for or not? Plus side, haven't been laid since I begat Connor. Minus side, I might end up torturing everyone near and dear to me. Plus side, haven't been laid since that threepeat with Darla. Minus side...

"Ah, hell with it. C'mere, Lindsey..."

"Ah, hell with it. C'mere, Lindsey..."

Just once, just once, I'd like Lindsey to reply, "To hell with you too. I'm straight! Got that? Straight!"

I'm pro slash, but I just don't see those two.

And post-Darla, LA-Angel is a slightly different matter to early BtVS Angel. IJS.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm pro slash, but I just don't see those two

Dude! A/L is who I trot out when people say "I just don't see the slash." And often they answer with "Well, okay, but a) Angel's like that and b) it's almost canon."

Which is to say ... really?

Really. I can't see them. I know it's strange, I know I'm a freak, but I really can't. I've never found an A/L fanfic I believed, no matter how well written.

You're welcome to try again, and I'll do my best to be open to it, but from the shows and the stuff I've read I can't see them in bed together.
