I pick the Winthrops. I miss them.

I might be able to do a scene or two for you. Because you are the Fabulous Teppy and you deserve treats.

Mmmmm. I Connie.

so I'll stop in order to avoid ego-inflammation. Heh.

Oh, I don't think we'll ever have to worry about that, but thanks for letting me know about those. I'm still finding LJ land to be entirely labyrinthine.

I believe I saw a link to Spectacle with the comment "THIS is what I wish I wrote like."

Heh. I think I actually saw that one. It had a comment underneath that wasn't exactly complimentary.

I'm not a shrinking violet. I can take criticism -- and sometimes even with aplomb! I'm just backing away from fandom right now while I'm caught in one of my love-hate-cycles-of-I-suck-dom.

I'll be under the computer desk taking a nerf bat to my subconscious.

Is Spectacle on Shriftweb? That's about the only place I look for new stuff.

I've been working on a song about the difference between analogy and metaphor.

Some Shriftish notes:

"Spectacle" is really lovely. I love the way you've captured the quiet certainty and strength of S7!Buffy in the last line.

Persephone is still my laptop background image. It makes me happy every time I turn on my computer. I've been meaning to write to tell you that.

The work you do to keep the fannish infrastructure going--Leviathan, Firefly background, BFA, 1/2 of PolyRecs--amazes and awes me. I'm so glad you're there.

Yeah, Connie, it's up on the Buffy Fiction Archive.

Heh. Thank you. I slammed my brain against the wall for about five hours before that line dropped out of it. Dana patiently allowed me to rant and rave, and feed her one line at a time.

It makes me happy every time I turn on my computer. I've been meaning to write to tell you that.

Huh. Cool. I've actually got three more wallpapers I've done from "Serenity", but I keep forgetting to upload them. Thanks.

I'm so glad you're there.

Sometimes I'm not. It's a lot of work, and the sense of fannish entitlement seems to get worse every year.

Then again, there is satisfaction in knowing some fannish infrastructure is in the hands of someone without a god complex... ;-)

Word, word, word. With a Wrod on top. Not to mention Exodus from Genesis, the new Farscape Primer site, hosting me & several other people, doing Buffy and Firefly transcripts, and her own writing.

Shrift rocks mightily. She Getteth Shit Done without tantrums or needing to have her ego stroked and reassured constantly.

And she is running the banner ad campaign for SF.com, for which she gets several 'goodonners' and a basket of baked goods if I ever get around to sending them. Or, you know, my garage, should she choose to move to SF and need a place to crash/store shit.

t considering announcing today "appreciate Shrift Day" and wondering if anyone would comply if I did...
