'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Where's the Heyer fic?!?

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

here - it's set in The Foundling.

"In good time, my gillyflower," the Captain promised him, even as he began to dispose of the Duke's cravat in a way that would have horrified his devoted valet. But the Duke had broken away from the tyranny of loyal retainers and merely laughed, and tilted his head back for a kiss.

Heh. No, nothing is sacred. La la la.

Regency Slash. Whole vistas just opened up. (Have you read Liz Barr's rather lovely little piece of Pride and Prejudice slash, Connie?)

...on the subject of literary fic, I'm sorely tempted to write Miss Lavish/Charlotte Bartlett. And I should not be surprised in the slightest if Mrs Collins had been in love with Miss Elizabeth Bennet. Not in the slightest.

Well, not yet ...

edit: Oh, that was pretty. Poor conflicted Victorians.

Blimey - Torch has written HEAPS of things, hasn't she?

Oh, my yes. torch is fabulous. I'm always shuffling over to her site and peering inside, hoping for something new.

Thrive to spite them

I'm sad. I went to see XXX, which really wasn't bad for $1.50. Vin. Action. Explosions. Hot guys with accents. Impossible stunts.

Anyway, I'm sitting through the movie and realize there is no homoerotic buddy movie love going on. And I was sad, because Fastlane--baby all about the slashy vibe. And here is Vin not even vibing with the bad guy, although the bad guy's hot brother had some hero worship going on. Then towards the end when one of the two Ivans (they are Prague cops) gets shot and the other shouts "IVAN!" I was all "ooohhh there's my slashy love. It's just a rare love."

I'm sad.

That and I spent most of the movie wondering what year the GTO was and if it was an earlier or later model than RayK's because Vin's looks more boxy than the pictures I've seen of Ray's.

But it was worth $1.50? Fair enough.

Oh yeah totally worth $1.50. There was Vin running around in a muscle shirt.

And all kinds of explosions. And the bad guy's brother was really hot, and he was always showing off his chest. Plus hot accent. And um. I definitly got my $1.50's worth. Unlike Attack of the Clones, where I wanted a refund, and I saw that for free.
