I wouldn't have mentioned the Last Virtue here if I didn't think it was worth reading. My only LV caveat is the one in whitefont in the comments I made about 30 posts back or so.

The plot vs. character thing is more from other works (specifically, The Uninvited Guest) of larger and more ambitious scope. And yes, perception of how one character would react in a given situation is very much YMMV, but sometimes, they do seem like they've been fitted awkwardly into situations where the reactions read a little more like they needed to be there than like reactions the character would have, if that makes sense.
She gives very good Cordy, which is rare.
Her Wes reads a little off (which may be my Uninvited Guest issue in a nutshell), however a large part of that is the fact that I'm a primarily Wescentric writer, so many, many Wesleys feel off to me. I'm hypercritical about the characters in which I'm most invested. (Wesley, Buffy, and, oddly, Fred, even though I don't write much Fred.)
Belated Cereal:
PMM/Minim's Fanfiction New Year's Resolutions
- Finish sequel to Imposters.
- Keep head down and mouth shut
- Write "Dude, Where's My Clark"
- Staple mouth shut
- Finish the damned Lilah/Gunn
- Repeat mouth closing, this time with Krazy Glue
- Move the site to the new URL.
- Get in 12-step program for linking
- Sleep more than three hours a night
- Remain silent on lists.
- Finish Lex/Lorne
Should be enough.

My fanfic resolutions, without hte cool formatting (in no particular order)
1. Finish Career Change
2. Start (and finish) Career Advancement (the sequel, heh)
3. Finish that huge story I've promised to my previous fandom
4. Put list of stories I think are cool on my website
5. Finish that story with the Winthrop Sisters (Hi, Teppy! It's not forgotten!)
6. Ignore the plot bunnies and write the ones I can't ignore quickly.
That should do.

Especially because, with the weird-ass fragmentary way I'm writing this, I think that shifts of tone and logic and stuff are probably way more problematic in the current draft than they would be if I were writing it all in a beginning-then-middle-then-end way.

Seriously, though, I'm starting to think that having opinions is going to backfire on me until I just want to crawl into a cave and not come out.
