I'd rather stay home and watch television. It's often funnier than killing stuff.

It's just the spambots that irritate me

Oh, I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to crawl your profile page. I think. And I've noticed no spam to my profile address ever.

I'm just really fucking stupid.

Oh, don't feel that way. If I hadn't found out about it we wouldn't have had this conversation and I know we've interacted a bit on LJ, but not a whole lot. And besides, just ask Fearless Diva, I'm evil. ;)

the idea that someone might be discussing things about me or my group of people, in a public forum, but without my happening to know about it.

Just revisiting this again, because in all the kerfuffle about my LJ post, I think my interest in everyone's comments about the Slash the Slasher challenge got missed out. And the reason I bring this up is because while the comment weren't specifically about me, they were about my idea and yet...I wasn't around to discuss it. Hmmm. I don't have a problem with that really. And it's nice to come across it randomly because it pleases me that this totally mad, outrageous idea I had has gotten people so interested, but still... pot. kettle. black. Things get discussed. It happens. We won't always be there when it happens.

Oh! Interesting. Yes. You have a very good point. My brain, now, is spinning through-- first it said "well, embitca was talking about us in particular, or Theo in particular, and the Slash the Slashers thing wasn't about embitca personally", but that's full of holes; and then it said "but I'd have never on my own talked to embitca personally & directly about what I think about the StS thing, because she doesn't (or, at least, didn't) know me, and why would she have cared about an email from a stranger", but that just invites the question "so then why would she know *you* care to know what a stranger thinks about your message board's discussion?" and I can't articulate anything tight against any of it.

Huh.... Rebecca Lizard: Hypercritical Hypocrite

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Oh, no - man, I know I'm hypocritical to the nth degree, because I've done precisely this same referring-to-another-person's-argument thing in my LJ as a jumping-off point for rambling. So I totally suck. In every possible way. But this earth logic doesn't seem to counterbalance my gut reaction of run away! run away! Potential for trolls! Especially since we're currently being attacked by a big ass troll over in Firefly.

t OT Does anyone else remember ever happening across an episode of Star Trek (tOS) in which some Bimbo of the Week said "Tell me more of this earth thing you call spanking"? Or possibly Spock may have said it. Or had it said to him. I forget. Did I dream this line?

And now our heads spin like Regan in The Exorcist. Hopefully we'll be able to avoid the projectile vomiting 'cause that's just gross :)

And incidentally, I love to know what people think of the StS thing. People weight it with much more import than I do and that entertains the hell out of me in ways that you can't begin to imagine because I have loony ideas like this all the time. It's taken on a life of it's own.

Like I need a hole in my head

::waves hi::

Delurking in this thread for the first time. I guarantee I'm not one of the evil scary lurkers who listens in and then runs away with info that I post elsewhere. *g* Of course, I can't prove this, so please take my word and not hate me for my lurky ways.

Anyway, delurking for two reasons. First, because, wow! Theodosia, you wrote "Kid Dynamo?" That was one of the first fics I ever read, way back in the day. I know it's saved on disk somewhere. How cool!

And second, for LOTR fic recs. Het, slash, gen, anything goes. Rec me, baby.

Evening, Snacky - Welcome!

May I suggest Poly Recs for excellent recs in a number of fandoms, including LotR.

Ah, Poly Recs! Thankee, thankee.

And, yes, I am one of the Boston Scullyfic mafia. ::grins:: I'm the Enforcer. I've heard much about this lovely place from Nutty, and wandered over a month or so ago to join in the fun.
