I battle evil. But I don't really win. The bad keeps coming back and getting stronger. Like that kid in the story, the boy that stuck his finger in the duck.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Gah! I must not start reading LoP! I have my own juvenile-fandom fic to finish! I have work! I have housework! My Christmas knitting is sitting unattended!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I have LoP bookmarked, but I just don't have the time to read it. Maybe this weekend.

Do, Teppy, do. You'll laugh. You'll advocate the slow torture of evil psychotherapists.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Okay, enablers, it's done. I rented Sorority Boys. Jesus Tapdancing Christ that was wretched. I watched at least a third of it from underneath my coffee table (my too-drunk-and-lazy version of hall watching). Now I understand the, erm, dildo-whacking reference.

And yet, and yet. MR is just too fucking--(to paraphrase a Zahra fic) MR is fucking.

Yeah.

Back to your regularly-scheduled discussion.

Thrive to spite them

Can you believe Barry Watson's chacarter was the "pretty one"? Yes the movie was awful. I saw it for free in a theater with about 3 teenage girls, a young teenage boy (not sure his age) and the boy's Mom. And two gray haired men that came in seperately and sat seperately a couple of rows apart.

I sat up at the back of the theater but I was dying laughing at the dildo scene and wishing I was close to the Mom because I wanted to know her reaction.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I liked it, but I'm, for reasons various and, as is often the case, sundry, hard to squick.

Also, I'm easily amused and spent the time figuring out all the gay coding. Like, you know, MR's character not ending up with a chick? Movie code for GAY GAY GAY!! See: Tango and Cash.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm not sure who that movie was for, but "me" is a pretty close answer. Not that it was good, or anything, but who the hell could like it all? It's just not possible to be sane and not be bothered or bored by its scattershot.

But any movie with dildo-fencing and muddy Adina and the blasé reaction to discovering one's had anal sex? When one is played by MR? That much I can wrap myself around.

Thrive to spite them

When I was watching the movie I was trying to mentally erase Barry Watson, and I kept hoping that MR's character would decide to stay in drag, I knew it wouldn't happen but that's what fanfic is for. Plus I loved watching MR play a woman.
