Heh. The G&M article seems to have stirred another kerfuffle.

Which is to say, someone is upset about being quoted, some are rushing to her defense and slamming the writer, others are saying "my, but don't you understand that that's what journalists do?"

Sigh.

Fandom is nuts. IJS.

Meredith Lynne.

I can understand her thinking "Aaargh!", but once you've cast your fic onto the waters it's pretty much up for grabs.

Ah, yes, all right.

You know, I was annoyed too when I saw the quoted text from Merry's fic, but it was more because I love that particular fic *so* much that I felt weirdly possessive of it (*), and I was upset that it hadn't been quoted quite as flatteringly as it might have been.

(*) the exact possessiveness, I might add, that fuels fandom itself-- this is meta-fandom!

[edited to finish a sentence. God, why did I even get UP this morning?]

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Thanks for letting me know, Ple. I was curious how that would go over, especially in light of the TWOP banner debacle. I don't really bother to keep up with Smallville fandom issues; I barely keep up with Smallville.

brillig

Fay, you evil, evil woman, I clicked on the Bouncing Rat link, started reading, started laughing, and now I've got the thing bookmarked--AND YOU'VE GOT ME READING THE HP FIC! I thought I was safe. Even though Draco does give me this evil thrill, like seeing Spike at school--if Spike were a real blond.
