Finally saw PotC3 yesterday. Yeah, it had too much in it, but I can forgive that, because (with the exception of Tia Dalma/Calypso) it was all necessary and carried over from the first 2.
t edit
I mean that Tia Dalma carried over from PotC2, obviously, and we had gotten the idea that she and Davy Jones were OTP because we saw her locket in PotC. But the whole concept of Tia-Dalma-as-spirit-of-the-seas-trapped-in-human-form was a new (and totally unnecessary, IMO) asspull.
Jack Davenport has one of the sexiest voices EVER. And I think that Norrington should have been the one to stab Davy Jones' heart and then take over the Flying Dutchman.
I thought that this was Depp's best of the 3, mostly because he wasn't stagger-y/speech slurred/scenery chewing.
The Boy and I had a long debate afterwards about whether an undead ferrier of souls is even able to impregnate someone. My vote: no. The Boy's vote: it's just a movie; you accepted everything else, so just go with it. (Heh.)

I thought he was alive during his day on dry land. (Unless I'm wrongly imposing Sandman rules on the PotCverse, which is entirely possible.)
Here's a question, though -- what if the captain of the Dutchman doesn't have an SO when s/he takes over command? Do they get to spend a day on dry land every ten years shopping and sightseeing, or do you need to have a true love waiting for you on shore to get that perk?

I think that Big Love is intrinsic to the Flying Dutchman myth/magic. You probably aren't eligible for captaincy without it.
We saw Die Hard this weekend. I recall this comment from Bob: "John McClane is like the roach motel for Eurotrash!"
Also: I still have a thing for Tim Olyphant, though he was probably wasted in this.
Saw
Transformers
yesterday. I have been informed that the new
Die Hard
was better, but it could hardly be funnier, intentionally or not.
It was a massively stupid movie with stupid decisions made and a resolution that made no sense.
That having been said, I hope John Rogers got paid and then some. Just puz.
Down to less than 20 posts!!!
So aside from Harry Potter, what else are people looking forward to seeing that's coming out this summer? I'm kinda curious about the Herzog movie that's coming out this week (it's already opened in New York, I think).
The Bourne Ultimatum!
I'm probably more excited for that one than HP5. I'm rewatching the first two today while I clean the house -- they're just lots of fun. I wish I were a spy. Think where you could go with all those passports!
Sunshine.
Oooh, right. I'd forgotten about that.
Oh wait,
Black Sheep
has opened, yes?
