It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Pulp Fiction and Goodfellas were in the 90s on that list. So last night we had to develop an oral macro for "THIS is better than Pulp Fiction/Goodfellas?" And once Godfather II came in at 32, "This is better than PF/G/G2?!" I have to say, it's a very Western-heavy list.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

The biggest chunk of that list I haven't seen is from the 1960s and '70s--Godfather, Graduate, Raging Bull, Chinatown, and a lot more on my to-be-watched list.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think I like these AFI guys. I'm sure that will go away once I read the list.

I just failed to get Pulp Fiction or Goodfellas.

Really hated PF.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Someone else who hasn't seen The Godfather !! Now I'm not so weird. I haven't seen Raging Bull either, but I've seen The Graduate and Chinatown. There are a few movies on the list I have on my DVR waiting to be watched: The General, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, and Nashville.

I also have yet to see Goodfellas.

Was The Sixth Sense really THAT good? Maybe I need to watch it again.

None of those are spinach movies, I think. (Except Raging Bull which I haven't seen.) They're not light movies, but they're very enjoyable film watching experiences.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

As always, AFI's come up with a list full of turds. The comparison is particularly amazing: "We have to make room for Titanic; Stagecoach has gotta go!"

Anyway, of the new list, I've not seen The Best Years of Our Lives, Cabaret, Sunrise, Swing Time, or Yankee Doodle Dandy. Of the bumpees, I've not seen Wuthering Heights.

I've seen a movie Corwood hasn't seen! I feel special. We saw The Best Years of Our Lives in my film class. It was all about deep focus and using a non-actor (with a hook for a hand!).

Sorry, I'm being overly negative.

I can't advise anyone to watch Raging Bull, though. Go watch Taxi Driver again. Or The King of Comedy.

A hook for a hand! That's moving up in my Netflix queue right now.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Cabaret is awesome, but the last time I tried to watch it (2002? 2003?), the situation was hitting a little too close to home and I had to turn it off midway through.

Swing Time is fun, if you like Astaire and Rogers. Which I do.
