Okay, did everybody else but me know that Jet Li and Jason Stathem were teaming up again? [link]
Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I didn't! *wibble*
So Jet Li's not doing martial arts epics anymore, he's just doing regular action movies?
He's not doing wu shu movies anymore, IIRC.

Yes.
And Sean Connery's not doing Indiana Jones movies anymore, and he's not doing regular movies either?
Yeah, Sean's retired, and apparently happy about it.
Sean, does "martial arts epic"=="wu shu" for you?
I can see how the cases mostly are equivalent, but I really wish I could remember where I read the quotes from him on his completion of the genre. They were tied into the wu shu-ness of it, not the epicness.

I don't know the difference, ita, but the trailers used the phrase "martial arts epic," if I recall correctly. Is wu shu a fighting style? Does that mean he would do a martial arts epic in another fighting style?
