The first 3rd-in-a-series movie this summer that didn't suck!
James Berardinelli says the same thing. I liked this bit about Clooney and Pitt:
The differences between Ocean and Clooney and Rusty and Pitt have become so blurred that a late-movie exchange between them carries a double meaning. It can be seen as an exchange between the characters or the actors, and makes sense in either context.
That's great news! Damon showed a clip on Letterman and it did not look promising.
I think my most anticipated sequel this summer is Bourne, however.
Went to Pirates. Had fun.
Won't remember any of it in a week.
I heard an interview with Eli Roth this morning, and I am suddenly overcome with the desire to see
Hostel
and
Hostel Part Two.
I find his passion endearing. Has anyone seen
Hostel
? Is it any good? I also must admit I'm easily intrigued by all the hoopla over the SHOCKING ENDING of
Hostel 2.
I screened Hostel 2 last night because I was the only person available and it had to be screened. Now I want to see Hostel 1. 2 was Very Horrifically Disturbingly Violent. But it had a good plot and I was never bored. I'm not sure which part of the ending is supposed to be shocking since I found the whole movie shocking but the ending had a few twists and turns and I only saw one of them coming. I think (as is usually the case) most of the people who are shouting about how wrong and evil Eli Roth's films are have never seen them. I used to be one of them.

Laga, this is what he said as well. Heh. I'm definitely interested. I liked
Saw
and
Saw II.
I found them interesting and creative. I'm trying to evaluate my response to
Final Destination 3,
because I liked the first two movies, but for some reason, I didn't care so much for the third. I didn't think I was squeamish about graphic death, but it made me weirdly uncomfortable.
I used to not be squeamish or uncomfortable about graphic death/torture scenes in movies, and the last couple years I've found that I can hardly stand them. I don't know why I've become more sensitized rather than further jaded. This is why I avoided all the aforementioned Eli Roth movies. I thought they were just torture porn.
The little bit I saw of Hostel was pretty appalling.
