I liked Orly more in this movie than the other two. He seemd more THERE somehow.

Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
He seemd more THERE somehow.
He totally did. And in the Western scene on that little spit of sand where Jack, Barbossa and Elizabeth are approaching them and he's standing with his weight kind of on one leg and stuff? Jaysus hot. I may need to renew my fan club card.
I think I would see it again, but I don't think I'd buy it unless it were on sale. Do want the soundtrack though. Sufficiently different from #1, yet familiar. The soundtrack for #2 failed to make any impact on me at all.
And man, did I ever love hearing the Jack theme for the first time in the flick. Not as uplifting as the various LotR themes, but still fun.
Must go see Pirates.
I just watched The Wild with Owen--sort of a lame-ass Disney animal animation flick. Not nearly as entertaining as Madagascar but it's got Eddie Izzard as a koala. So damned funny.
From Wizardnews:

Do Morgan Freeman's two turns as god in the Almighty movies make him the most Magical of all Negroes ever?
HA!
I enjoyed PotC3, though the bit with the maelstrom went on way too long without much of importance happening.
I agree with ita about the Endeavor getting blown up scene coming across as saddening and at odds with the rest of the film.
This is one of those comics or movies things but here:
Gaiman Adapting Death?
Film Ick reported a rumor that author Neil Gaiman will direct his first feature film later this year: an adaptation of his graphic novel Death: The High Cost of Living, based on his own script.
Citing an anonymous source, the site reported that Gaiman discussed the movie with Pan's Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro a couple of weeks back.
The site also reported that the film will most likely shoot in late autumn or early winter in the United Kingdom, that Transformers star Shia LaBeouf is "almost certainly going to play the male lead," named Sexton Furnival in the comics, and that Death—or Didi as she calls herself in her mortal form—has snagged the interest of a famous young actress who will be named soon.
From ScifiWire.
Gaiman's script! With Guillermo del Toro! These are rumors I can get behind.
And Scifi Wire is also reporting that Chris Weitz will adapt Michael Moorcock's Elric to film.
Citing an anonymous source, the site reported that Gaiman discussed the movie with Pan's Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro a couple of weeks back.
At the Fragile Things booksigning last year, Gaiman said del Toro was probably going to produce it.
