Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I think Freddy Quimby should walk out of here a free hotel

The most interesting thing about the (quite positive) reviews of 28 Weeks Later... I've read are the allusions to the director's previous film Intacto. Has anyone seen it?

move out and draw fire

Those Top 5 lists re-confirm that I'm actually a guy. Except for the fact that I've never seen The Godfather .

I just recently heard a thing about oranges in The Godfather though. I really do need to watch that.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Dude. See it. See both of them. (There was no third movie, despite what you may have heard. Lalalalala.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The lack of Princess Bride on both those lists--a symptom of what's wrong with movies and the world, or a cause?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Brando improv-ed that scene too.

Always Anti-fascist!

Love the Godfather. Actually, I did not find Godfather 3 awful, but compared to what came before, of course it was.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Damn. Adrienne Shelley's movie got a serious rave in the Chron.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Damn. Adrienne Shelley's movie got a serious rave in the Chron.

Isn't NF in that one? I thought I saw the previews for it when we saw The Namesake last week.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I want to see that movie, it sounds really excellent. The first of the Sundance theatres [link] will be showing it starting today. I may have to go check it out.

Always Anti-fascist!

Glad to hear it. Sorry she can't be here for it. Of course, she'll always be the cutest little masochist in the leather store to me.
