I don't like vampires. I'm gonna take a stand and say they're not good.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I was going to say, that movie always makes me wonder what it would be like if Gotham *was* Chicago.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

That's silly, because Gotham = NYC, Metropolis = Chicago.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

Gotham = NYC, Metropolis = Chicago.

This is weird to me, I would have pegged them opposite. (I'm not a comics reader, though, so my viewpoint may be skewed...)

I haven't stumbled across the Batman shoot yet (oh, unless those dudes were setting up cameras for that and blocking the sidewalk and annoying me while I was trying to get to Water Tower Place), but I know quite a few people who have.

I shouldn't stalk Christian Bale, right? Right.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Righ-- no wait, why not?

The Gotham in the current movies is geographically where NYC is (and seems to have the same basic arrangement of islands), but is really really obviously shot in Chicago. For me, anyway, the architecture and look of the streets gives it a much stronger Chicago vibe than NYC.

What Jessica said. Cognitive dissonance. But at least it's pretty cogdiss.

If you decide to join those who do, be aware there are several thousand people ahead of you in line. And some of the Baleheads make the Kittens look sane by comparison.

Well, I value my life, and stalking's way too much work, anyway.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Saw Hot Fuzz tonight and laughed myself sick! Holy crap, that was hysterical. Didn't hurt that one of the cop-movie tropes they send up is the buddy-cop bromance. (Also doesn't hurt that Simon Pegg is a total cutie.) But mostly, it was just awesomely funny. Thanks to everyone who recommended it here, since the trailer didn't really hook me, and I might have missed it were it not for you!
