That's not obscure.

Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
That line may be too obscure for the audience (although I got it). Maybe it's not a great fit for that point in the movie.
Too obscure for me. Is it a TV ref, a book ref, a movie ref?

"Forget it Jake, it's Chinatown."
Aaah. I'm not sure I even saw it, only clips on other shows.
Okay, I just rewatched Chinatown last week and I went huh? at Jessica's post. But I can be dense that way.
In other Jessica news, she's just as cute pregnant, and her new place is fab to boot! Also? The Lives of Others is every bit as good as she said it was.
I went huh? at Jessica's post
I realized after I saw Hec's post that I'd gotten it slightly wrong anyway. (Pegg/Wright/Frost didn't.)
okay, either dan radcliffe has a weird, weird face, or his haircut in OOTP is actually *less* flattering than his GOF haircut, which is kind of a feat in and of itself.
My 8th-grade niece is not a fan of the new haircuts (not just DR's, but Grint's as well), just because all the guys she knows have longer hair now, so the shorter cut doesn't fit with the current fashion.
One year for Christmas, my sister gave me a pack of Sad Chick Flicks. One of them was The Man in the Moon.
I called her, sobbing, last night after finally watching it.
I told her she was a horrible sister for giving me something so sad to watch.
I helped Bob write a sketch with the absurd premise that Robert Towne tried to insert "Towne" into every movie title he wrote-- the blackout line being, of course, "Forget it [name], it's Robert Towne"-- and of the dozen people in the room only the sketch teacher got it.
