Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Jess, any interest in seeing a foreign or other film on Saturday the 14th? I'll be in NY that weekend for my SF interview (Saturday lunchtime), but once I'm done with that I'd love to see Buffistas (and I missed you last time)!
Oh, excellent! I'll email you.
OMG. You're married to a man for almost 9 years, and one day he comes out with things like, "I don't like Max Headroom," and you think, "Who are you and what have you done with the man I thought I married?"
He also didn't like Weird Science, but I could put that down to resentment of my attraction to Wossname.
The DH has been working intermittently with Peter Bogdanovitch on a project the last few months. I have never met him myself. PB is currently in Fla. at a film festival, on a panel chaired by another friend. Another Friend just called to say he introduced himself to PB, said he was a friend of DH and Peter's first words were "How did Robin's surgery go?" I'm gobsmacked he even knows my NAME. How sweet is that?
I think everyone should go rent Paper Moon right now.
You were attracted to *Chet*?
Hey, TV Chet was played by Lee Tergensen!
Um, sorry, not Weird Science, Real Genius. Val Kilmer = the wossname in question. Somehow these are filed in the same drawer in my head.
Oohhhh, THAT Wossname! Yes. Well. Arguably the last best role Kilmer ever played. And I did the name confusion between the movies too. At some point they untweaked, though, and I don't get them mixed up any more.
Hi! I'm Jordan, I'm hyperactive. I was just sanding my floors, and I also knitted you a sweater....
Emily reminds me of Jordan.
I was so disappointed when I saw the Jordan actress in something else--she was boring! I wanted her to grab a sander or something. I love Real Genius.
We still use, "Yes! How does it feel to be Frozen!" when something good happens, and "Well then, I'm happy and sad for you," when ambivilence is called for.
