Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Speaking of stop-action, this has probably already made the rounds, but it's entertaining enough to risk the dreaded re-post: [link]

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I love Tony vs. Paul!

Those silly guys.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That was awesome. I especially like the FAQ.

4. Yes, we really did jump all those times.

I was wondering that!!

Mr. Show did a great stop-action Hard Day's Night parody, which I can't find on YouTube. But I must comment on the Mr. Show goodness on YouTube! For instance:

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Do I assume correctly that you Commitments fans have also seen The Snapper and The Van ?

I think Freddy Quimby should walk out of here a free hotel

Sundance has shown a movie that the two Chicago Tribune movie reviewers actually liked, an Irish musical called Once. From their description, I hope it gets picked up for U.S. distribution, because I'd definitely go see it.

Huh. The director's brother taught me screenwriting. And his sister taught me Medieval English. And his brother-in-law was the head of my masters course. And Hansard's girlfriend babysits my cousins.

Welcome to Ireland!

Always Anti-fascist!

I have seen the whole Rabbitte Trilogy, but I'm not sure who else has. But I think "The Commitments" is still my favorite because I love soul in a deep and unholy way. But they were all funny...

Now tagless for your comfort.

We watched The Notorious Betty Page tonight. Was it supposed to be that ambivalent? Porn good! No, porn BAD!
