Did nobody see Willow? I was all swoony over Madmartigan. "You are my sun, my moon, my starlit sky! Without you, I dwell in darkness!"
Man, oh, man do I love that movie. Mostly for Val.
And for the brownies.
How can you NOT love a six inch high Kevin Pollak????
No no. I'm a notorious Thunderheart recommender.
I love everything about it.
It was sad though, to troll Native American message boards to hear "Based on a true story?, it IS a true story in every way."
Am I the only one with any Thunderheart love?
Nope. I like that one, too. I think VK has so much fun with his parts that he's hard not to enjoy watching.
I loved the relationship between Greene's and Kilmer's characters. "Fuck you, Crow Horse," remains a familiar rejoinder in the family lexicon. As does, "There ain't no word in Lakota for goodbye, Ray." And the hesitant, half-believing "...Jimmy?" when something possibly spooky happens.
So. I guess we didn't so much *love* Thunderheart as *incorporate* it, much like Pirates of Penzance, Ghostbusters, and Princess Bride.
How can you NOT love a six inch high Kevin Pollak????
And Rick Overton!
TOP SECRET will always be my favorite Val Kilmer movie.
I heart Greene even more than Kilmer. And I was impressed with Sam Sheperd's steely baddie..."Nothing worse than a madman, thinks he's right with God." Or whatever Mal's quote is about characters like that.
"Officer down. We've got an officer down!"
[over radio] "Was the officer shot?"
"No, he was bit by a fuckin' badger."
I thought
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
was fantastic! It was funny, and snarky, and I loved the relationships between (among?) the three main characters, and it didn't break my heart at the end. Now I want to watch it again.
