A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Robin Hood and Little John yiffing through the forest...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oddly enough, learning that about the Robin Hood movie makes more than perfect sense to me, and I can't work out why I think it makes as much visceral sense as it does logical. It's not like I've even seen the movie more than once, and that was a gazillion years ago.

Actually, maybe I never saw it. It might have just been the Viewmaster version.

I actually love that version, too. One of my favorite Disney cartoons. The Furry thing makes me laugh.

I don't want you to go to a cocktail party full of sexual deviants and talk about how much you love the Disney Robin Hood and have them snicker up their sleeves. It's for your own good.

Well, I do appreciate the thought. Although, doesn't "a cocktail party full of sexual deviants" basically describe the F2F Prom? And I've managed to survive those (more or less) unscathed...

Oh, I think you were scathed and then some. Possibly chafed.

Aw, now wasn't it nice of me to give you such a good setup? Merry Christmas!

You have a whole career as a straight man waiting for you. Except you're not a man and not entirely straight.

Hec is on fire with the witty repartee today. Which is v. good, since work is tedious in the extreme.

Tell me about your new super fast skates. Please phrase your answer in the form of a review of Kansas City Bomber and/or Rollerball (the original) in deference to on-topicity.

Hey, I can be on-topic without resorting to skating movies. Watch me:

I am beginning to get comfortable on my new skates, but still often look like a female version of Monsieur Hulot, struggling to combine my vulnerable humanity with modern technology with results that are both touching and hilarious.
