And po-lice. Obviously, I have much "Prime Suspect" love.

Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Is John Bowe still acting? He was the original George Marlowe on the first Prime Suspect, and even more memorably IMO, he was the weaver Cestor Woodseaves in Precious Bane, which I saw on Masterpiece Theatre and completely fell in love with him.

I'd love to see the BBC production of Precious Bane again. The book is great too.
That was the first thing I ever saw Clive Owen in, and he looked completely different than he does now! Of course, it was 17 years ago, so I'd expect him to be younger-looking, but the difference is striking.

Nodding so hard my head is about to fall off.
I don't love Jim Carrey, but I don't hate him, either. I mostly just don't notice him.
Then again, I've been disassociating in times of terrible, horrible pain for nigh about 30 years now, so that might be it.
Everyone complained about the ending
P-C, I don't think it was the way the aliens were dispatched, but the fact that everyone in TC's family made it out, even the ones who seemed to be toast, that was the source of the complaint.
LAUREL CANYON is the only time I've found Frances McDormand hot. I love her in just about everything I've seen her in, but I've never found that she pings my "rowrrrr!" button except that one film.
Ah, Frank, yeah. That was one thing that did seem weird: he and his family seemed practically untouchable during the entire movie. When, like, EVERYONE AROUND THEM dies but they don't, it's just a little unbelievable.

Hells yes, this. Plus? She flashes her boobies.
Also? Black leather pants. Lorne would have approved.
