I fell down and got confused. Willow fixed me. She's gay.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

My feeling about Kubrik in general is that he is probably the best craftsman in the history of film, but he is not nearly as intelligent as he thinks he is.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Another movie I love is The Thin Man I watch it every time it comes on TCM even though I've seen it dozens of times.

Love The Thin Man! That, High Society, and (bizarrely) Shag: The Movie are three movies that my sister and I will always watch and quote constantly.

Other classics that get repeated viewings Arsenic and Old Lace, It Happened One Night, The Palm Beach Story, The Lady Vanishes, His Girl Friday. Basically, if it's a screwball comedy, or by Hitchcock, I'm there; except I'm very meh on Bringing Up Baby and Philadelphia Story (but that's only because I saw High Society first and the dialogue is almost exactly same).

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

People that don't like Bull Durham are simply bad human beings.

The parts of it I've seen (because I've never watched the whole thing) don't really grab me. But then, the only reason I liked Field of Dreams was for the fantasy/magical reality aspects of the story. Movies about sports (and especially movies about baseball) Are Not My Thing. At all.

So, does this mean I get to choose a different species to be, since I'm a bad human?

And I hate High Society because I saw The Philadelphia Story first.

Because books.

freakish loathing of Martin Sheen

It's like I don't even know you.

I'm telling you, a formative-years viewing of The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane (in which Sheen plays a totally creeptastic pedophile) can scar a girl for life.

Better now?

Always Anti-fascist!

I liked FG when I saw it, but not on rewatch. I've, uh, changed a bunch, to put it mildly. Bull Durham is so sexy I forgot I know nothing of baseball. Although I do know little stuff now from being a Countdown fangirl... KO's always got some '60s southpaw to give geek props to.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I am going to see Bull Durham for the express purpose of not liking it, now.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I need to watch some movies with Gloomcookie's GF.

Her original goal in life was to teach Women In Film. She would have rocked at it.
