I love PC in everything. I think the first time I really noticed her was in The Untouchables, and then later as Teddy's wife in Murder One.

Yes. She's (Sheedy) even good in it. Watch it when you're itching for a moody, atmospheric, depressing piece. PC is fabulous as an aging German junkie actress, Greta.

Love Patricia Clarkson in Station Agent, Pieces of April and Far From Heaven.
Straitharn's been good in so much stuff - particularly his work with Sayles which goes all the way back to Return of the Secaucus Seven. But as Ple well knows, it is his work on The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd where he achieved absolute perfection. Ahhh, I could recreate that Ingrid Bergman speech almost verbatim from memory and I haven't seen it in 20 years.

For some reason, I don't think I can think of any modern character actors. All mine go back to the 60s or ealier.
