I just saw Closer. I know I'm supposed to like it,

but I wanted to punch everyone in the face except Alice, and not just because it was Natalie Portman. She seemed to be the only one with any sense of decency.

The whole movie makes me feel kind of dirty.
I think that may be why I like it. It makes me want to drink scotch.
I really liked 3/4 of the performances in the film (Yes, I'm looking at YOU, JR). i thought the writing was strong and compromising but I also disliked all of them.
I rather like Julia Roberts in the movie, but Jude Law leaves me pretty cold.

I found the massive time jumps really confusing, and it made it hard for me to follow the relationships and/or get any sense of them.

I didn't hate it, but it seemed like it was written for actors to perform, not for audiences to watch.
Owen owns the film, no doubt. He played the Law role onstage, which is cool.

I really like that Damien Rice song. In fact, I'm listening to it right now, AIFG.
