I just tried Devil in a blue dress and got no joy.
Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
What kind of fabric does it look like?
Also, it's not so much a true horror movie.
Megan, I had never heard of the dress movie.
A clue above revealed that it shares directors with another answer, and I figured it using IMDB .
Ahhhh! Got it! Thanks.
8 more to go!
Raq, this is a great party game and the thread just proved its potential for team-play. I'd have never made with past 40 without the most excellent assistance of the 'ffistas. And, I think someone else said upthread that reading other people's hints was even more fun than finding the answers! Fun all the way around.
I'm still stuck on the fishpond, btw. It seems nobody's made a horror movie called "Pond" , "Dark Scary Pond" or "Tar Pit" yet.
But someone has made a movie about a particular type of body of water (made even more famous by Brooke Shields) with something/one in it.

It's not a pond, lake, swamp, inlet, sound, bay, or ocean. But it is a body of water.
And the not!fish critter is also important for the title. The thing comes from the water.
Like the Toadies song!
Not really, though.
Also, like the nun's barrel of water, and the dark cave on the other side of the painting, this body of water has a property or a color to it.
And the thing int the water is some kind of beast, or monster, or thing, or....
(and the movie is a classic)
