Also, Beej?
The planets? While the answer is not When Worlds Collide (which I thought it was at first, too), one of those words is in the title of the film that is the correct answer.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Seany!! I saw your speakers at Universal! Good speakers! YAY speakers!
Hee! Hi Aims. We had fun striking everything yesterday. And it went quick, too.
I haven't figured out:
The planets
The fish swallowing a string of pearls or something in the lower left hand corner
The guy with the telescope in the rickety building
The three children dancing in a circle
The guy in a straight jacket
The guy with baskets on his head and feet
The three people looking at a map
the bats
the dark tunnel
And 1 other that I'm not spotting at all.
Sean! You rock. Okay, now I'm at 39.
About the not!fish in the lower left corner look at what it is and what it is in.
The mnm on the stairs what is she wearing?
The guy in the straitjacket is a a what, pejoratively?
The kids are doing what?
I'm completely lost on the group with the zeroes, too. At first I thought The Devil's Rejects but that is clearly not the case. Perhaps they aren't actually zeroes.
Oh, and the juggled pennies? I got nothing.
Look at the number of pennies.
Those aren't zeroes, they're Os.
Someone linked to this about two weeks ago, and it took me and the husband and two kids to get most of them.
The three children dancing in a circle
Think of other ways children play.
50/50, baybee! Thanks to dcp.
Beej: don't overengineer your first one. That was a "duh" for me also, when I described the clue out loud.
I don't think the M&M is anything other than the Lynch movie. The stairs are something else.
And yeah, it says "Dark" movies, but one isn't even a movie, per se, and one, maybe two, are comedies.
Sean: the fish swallowing a string of pearls is more about the surrounding than the specifics of the "fish"
Some of the rest of yours were the last ones I got also. I got a couple by running through famous horror movie titles and realizing what matched.
The three people looking at a map
They are more specific than "people." Look at their age and gender, and what they are.
Don't overengineer these:
The three children dancing in a circle. (playing ring around the rosie maybe, or another game?)
The woman wrangling two kids. (what is a woman with kids?)
The guy in a straitjacket.
The stairs.
The pile of jack-o-lanterns. (when do jack-o-lanterns happen?)
Endgame ones for me were the tunnel mouth, the big roach, the blue dress, and the aforementioned Ring Around the Reaper and the two dudes. (I thought "The Odd Couple" was a dark movie!)
(probably serial killing)
the juggled pennies?
This is a groaner.
The guy with the telescope in the rickety building
This one seems to be more an iconic image from the movie than a rebus of the title. Although I think it was binocs in the movie.
The guy with baskets on his head and feet
What are baskets made of?
The guy WAS a groaner. And you are right about the optical device in the movie, I think.
I'm so dim. I'm STILL not getting the pennies or the woman. Glerg. Cement cranium!
