Me too. I'm better now. Fernet?
You bet!
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Okay, now I've got everything except 1 and 18.
(Now, just 18.)
#18 is written by someone who is also responsible for a critically-acclaimed series on HBO.
ETA: Sorry for mis-attributing the direction of such a "beautiful" movie.
Oh! Okay -- whew -- got them all now.
Thanks for the hints.
yargh! all I have left is 13 and 19! and I only needed clues for two on the ones I already have answers.
#19 represents a character in the movie more than the movie itself. This character appears in other films in the series .
#13 is a classic horror book as well as movie .
SA, in 13, the scissors represent an ax.
And 19, funnily enough, is a character who has the same name as another figure depicted in these puzzles.
Wow, the writer of #8 is a good example of the "you have to start somewhere" lesson.
ah-ha! thanks megan, got 19. still thinking on 13. argh I don't read horror.
I don't particularly like the director of #13, but he certainly earned his great reputation. His last film starred a very famous couple.
