Kaylee: Is that him? Mal: That's the buffet table. Kaylee: Well how can we be sure, unless we question it?

Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

AmyLiz's quote accidentally gives the James Bond movie away. I think the quick-formatting doesn't work inside a quote.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The one with the highligters on the "road", the five staple removers, and the date book with the post-its all over it are the ones giving me no love.

The highlighters on the road is actually very clever. The other two I can't figure out at all. (I thought the post-its were The Notebook but I was wrong.)

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

It's not helping.

I have NO IDEA how that hint helped Sophia, but thanks! (Seeing as how I've never read the book OR seen the movie...must be one of those cultural osmosis things.)

[eta: Meaning, I've got it now, I just have no idea how.]

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yeah, I suspect it would only help if you've seen the movie in question.

"The Notebook" is on the right track, though.

hip deep in pie

I got the post its on the notebook. It's a chick flick. Look at the names. And what the other name for a notebook?

I can't get the staple removers at all.

I also can't get the one that totally looks like it should be an Indiana Jones movie, but it isn't.

Because books.

AmyLiz's quote accidentally gives the James Bond movie away.

What quote? I quoted something?

I am missing number one, the tape dispensers forming a bridge, staple removers in a gang, highlighters on the road, scissors coming through the wall, paperclip man being crussed by a truck, and the staple removers in mouth.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

the date book with the post-its all over it are the ones giving me no love.

I kept getting a wrong answer on this one because of punctuation. Just FYI.
