I saw X3 today. I was pretty entertained. I went in expecting crap and thought it wasn't so different from the first two. Sure, there was a bit of shitty dialogue and you could see the CGI at times, but overall I thought it was pretty good. There I said it!
Skeffington
slayed me. "Fanny!" Hahahahahahahaha. GF and I have been on a big Bette Davis kick lately (due to the new box set that just came out). We watched
The Man Who Came To Dinner
tonight. Very non-Bette role, but still enjoyable. My tops used to be 1. Kate Hepburn and 2. Joan Crawford. I must say that Bette is giving Joan a run for her money... Still love me some Joan, though!

Have you ever seen
A Woman's Face?
She's great in that.
I TiVoed the last Matt Helm movie
The Wrecking Crew
because I'd never seen it. I usually watch these on FF and stop for scenes of interest. I know it's ridiculous to note but they're jarringly sexist - even for this genre. Lots of gorgeous women in this one though. Tina Louise looking way hotter than she ever was as Ginger. Elke Sommer at her physical peak. Amazing body. Nancy Kwan - supersleek and groovy. And I couldn't place the fourth female, who played Helm's ditzy fellow agent Freya Carlson. I kept thinking, "God, she's beautiful even with the weird wig. How come I've never seen her in anything else. Women that beautiful usually wind up in a lot of movies."
It was Sharon Tate.
God, that's depressing, Hec. Thanks.
That's part of the reason I have a really hard time watching
The Fearless Vampire Killers.
The Break-Up is NOT the light-hearted comedy being sold in the trailers.
Jessica, I've heard it compared to The War of the Roses. Any thoughts?
Hey, Jessica, got the email from Mr. PMoon. Thanks!

I actually have never seen War of the Roses (I know, I know...) so I can't really comment.

Great!
The DH is sick, so we've been watching a lot of movies this week. Just watched
Panic Room.
I'd been avoiding it because I thought it would stress me out, but really, there was just far too much Stupidity Factor for me to do anything other than MST3K it.
Cool camera tricks though.
Seeing as how we have no thread for tv other than sci fi or certain particular shows, I thought I'd mention here that word has come down from HBO that while Season 4 of Deadwood is impossible at this point, David Milch will make two 2-hr movies to finish things out.
This week is Deadwood week on Matt Zoller Seitz's blog. Great stuff!
