Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What did you make, Trudy?

Mmm. That is fancy crock pot fare. I need to figure out how to use mine and find a good cookbook for it.

ND and I are on the freeway heading to LAX to pick up meara. YAY meara! However, there are some issues:

  • we are driving from the Valley to LAX
  • it's Friday during rush "hour"
  • it's a holiday weekend
  • it's raining

Anyone from LA is now groaning in sympathy. For those from other regions of the country, allow me to translate: We started our epic journey at 6:30. It is now 7:42. We've travelled 10 miles.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I left work at 5:30.

I literally just walked in the door.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

... on the plus side, you have interweb in the car.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

At least here we have weather to account for slow going. So glad I don't live in SoCal anymore, the traffic would drive me nuts.

You would think, but it is not.

Melt butter and oil in pan, salt and pepper pork, brown pork [heh, typo-ed "porn"], toss pork in crock pot, pour milk in to cover 3/4 pork, set pot on low, go to work for eight hours.

Come home. Lift out pork. Wisk gravy. Turn pot on high. Take dog out for ten minutes. Slice up pork and toss gravy on it.

so. darn. good.

I'm thinking next time I'll lay some veggies on top and make it a complete meal.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Put the veggies (mini carrots are yum) on the bottom.
