JenP! My secret slacker santee, I'm sending many MANY good thoughts your way for a quick recovery, combined with a stellar prognosis, and regular lashings of good hot tea and generous amounts of white chocolate peppermint bark. But mostly the first 2.
You'll be in my thoughts tomorrow, absolutely.
I'll be thinking of you, JenP.
Gronk.
First day at work sucked. Don't want to work there.
My living room is bigger than the break room.
Someone complained about my "odor" that neither my boss nor my supervisor, nor nearby astonished co-workers could smell.
I was shocked, and hurt when my boss brought it to my attention that someone had reported "an odor."
Primarily because Not three hours before that i had taken an extra careful shower, put on my best (clean!) clothes and driven 50 miles starting out in a blizzard, and getting there where they got two flakes of snow.
The only thing oderous from me should have been my deoderant, which is "fresh scent" not "overpowering Musk."
That led me to thorougly losing any motivation the rest of the day as they piled more and more rules and regs and stuck me at a 3 foot wide carrol to blunder about and try to learn seventy gajillian things at once about their proprietary softwares.
Basically the "Throw him in and insult him and see if he comes back tomorrow" school of management.
Did you know they want me to sign away my right to full pay if I quit? If I quit in the first 90 days, they will only pay me minimum wage for any unpaid worked hours.
Also? Bossman was impatiently correcting me less than three hours in as I was struggling to learn the system and was actually clearing old cases that were unresolved, and no one had gotten back to closing out.
It was my first day. I still haven't read all the handouts.
Feh.
Oh, man, Daniel. That just sucks.
Sorry for the brain dump.
Oh, no! That's what we're here for. Hugs and hairpats, as needed.
{{{Daniel}}}
I'm eating chocolate dipped strawberries AIFG!!!!!
Daniel, that sounds like one hellava day. I hope it resolves itself into something much, much better.
JenP, sending ~ma to you, to get a clean bill of health very, very soon.
Job~ma, to Matt!
Well, at least your boss and your supervisor backed you up on the odor thing -- and dealt with it head-on. Maybe that's an indication of something approaching a positive mangement style?
And try not to let impatient bossman upset you too much-- some people are just shitty teachers. Or he fought with his wife... or... or...
I'm not trying to negate your feelings. I'm sorry it was a horrible day. Here's to many better ones and soon!
Daniel, I'm sorry your first day on the new job was stressful.
Jen, oodles and oodles of ~ma to you; I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.
