Made and ate homemade chicken and vegetable soup- coupla chicken breasts on the bone, browned and then poached/simmered with carrot, celery, shallot, garlic clove and herbs and spices. After that came together to my satisfaction, broth was strained, added the chicken meat (removed before it got overcooked), a sweat of fresh diced carrot, celery, shallot, and garlic, and threw in some baby spinach, yellow pear tomatoes, and fresh cilantro. It was really good, and I think I may experiment with more Southeast asian flavors/spices/textures the next time I make it.
Tom's going to make some chili using chunks of pork loin later today. Snow days can be fun. Food is love. That is all.

particularly delightful when we dashed across the parade route and accidentally ditched you in the grandstand. JZ was so mortified she wanted to push her way back through the crowd, dash back across the route just to say goodbye.
I do hope Juliana's tum is feeling better today.
