In zoo news, we now have a new baby porcupine - a porcupette. The good news - for mother porcupines - is that the quills are soft at birth (so no stabby stabby for her).

Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Oh how I wish I had had more slack in my work day ealier in the week so I could have gotten in on the lunch having.
And it's her married name. I would have never taken it.
I can't not mention the friend whose mother's maiden name is Moyston and who married a Mr. Cumming.
And hyphenates.
It sounds like bull, but a) I know the daughter and b) google (sometimes I do to make sure I hadn't hallucinated it again).
Wow. My married name seems tame in comparison.
Cash! How's Little O? And how are *you*?
Little O is doing superbly! She's nursing like a champ and sleeping 3-4 hours at a stretch. Big Bro is still tense and weird but we had a better night last night and he's going to his grandparents to get thoroughly spoiled this weekend.

You have. But just remember that kids are very shortsighted about what their perfect world would be. Look at how things turned out with Nutty and Flea, and Flea was none to happy at the arrival of the li'l Nuttykin.
Here's a thing I remind myself: It's not my job to make Emmett. It's my job to give Emmett the tools to make himself happy. Sometimes that's going to be one step back for several steps forward over the long haul. Owen's going to be an excellent brother, I think. It will be good for him.

True. It's just been a rough week and I feel so helpless when he melts down. I'm torn in two directions with wanting to make everyone feel ok with the new situation.
Plus, you know--Riding the Hormone Train to Crazytown half the time.
I love the Hormone Train. Good snacks on the trolley.
O will adjust. My daughter was only a little bit older with Leif came around and they play with each over and love each other like crazy.
